Daniel Tammet

This is a good day. I feel great. I have done a bunch of Pimsleur, though I need to work more on my writing skills, since they are deteriorating.

I just watched a remarkable video on YouTube about Daniel Tammet. He is a writer and linguist with what is known as high-functioning autistic savant syndrome, and he has a remarkable aptitude for languages. In fact, “remarkable” is not strong enough—maybe “outrageous”?

In any case, the YouTube video shows how he learned Icelandic in a week. Yes, a week. That is insane.
