Halloween, with German Grammar

I begin an intensive review of German grammar amid ghouls and goblins.

This weekend I returned to one of my favorite language-learning strategies: intensive grammar study. I have three books I am making my way through. Most of what I focused on yesterday and today was nouns: gender, plural forms, that kind of thing. I think/hope improving my grammar skills will jumpstart my speaking skills as well.

Today was Halloween. For the first time Brandt and I went to the Halloween extravaganza that takes place annually on West 69th Street.

We went with our eight-year-old niece, who lives in Halloween-free Italy. About 10 minutes into our wanderings, I was nearly overcome by chocolate fumes. Our niece took pity on me later and gave me some candy. I survived.
