My Future (Tense) Is Cloudy
I am forgetting how to say "will be" in multiple languages.
Reviewing (and Forgetting) Spanish at a Neighborhood Cafe
I am getting confused about how to say “will be” in multiple languages. For example, as in “What will be, will be.”
Spanish, Italian, and French are very similar. They converge.
Or rather, barely diverge. In some ways at least.
Here is “He will be smart” in each:
- Él será inteligente. (Spanish)
- Lui sarà intelligente. (Italian)
- Il sera intelligent. (French)
If I were studying one language at a time, this mental muddle wouldn’t happen. Or there would in any case be less muddling.
It is a drawback, but I like this all so much I will pay the price.
