Pimsleur and Running: Incompatible?
There are only so many things you can do well at the same time you are running.
When I woke up today, I went for a 9-mile run in Central Park, doing two Pimsleur lessons while I was out there. It has been a long time since I have run with Pimsleur.
It sucked.
The only reason I did Pimsleur on this run is that there is a lot going on this weekend, and I need to be super-efficient. The problem is, I am running faster than I was four or so months ago, and Pimsleur doesn’t really work well when I speed up. It was good as a companion for logging all those long slow miles that got me in shape, but now I want to concentrate on speed.
Anyway, one of the main reasons this is a busy weekend: it is the opening of Brandt’s one-man show, Give and Go: Learning from Losing to the Harlem Globetrotters!
Tonight was the second night. I love the show and the story.
I always cry.

Do you cry with joy? Sorrow? Pride?
All of the above (though I can’t place the sorrow category).
