Soccer!
I hang out with sports fans from around the world.
Without Rosetta Stone access, it was an all-Pimsleur weekend, though I confess I did not get as much done as I would have liked.
This afternoon Brandt and I went to the Boat Basin Café at 79th Street to watch the World Cup finals with some friends, and hundreds of other people, too. It was a very international and multilingual crowd.
Being in this café (and “café” is a word that does not do it justice) is like being in a castle on the Hudson River. This particular castle does not have the greatest food in the history of the universe, but it is enormous, and beautiful, and regularly a total revelation to people who stumble upon it while walking through Riverside Park.
Soccer Fans From Around the Globe…
…Gathered at the Boat Basin Café
In the evening I did more Pimsleur, until I got so tired it was actually painful.
Finally I fell asleep with the sounds of Pimsleur in my ears. I woke up with the sounds of Pimsleur in my ears. I fell asleep again.
But while I was awake, I enjoyed it!
