The Italian American Museum building, located in Little Italy in Manhattan, used to house Banca Stabile, a bank for Italian immigrants in New York City.
When I visited the museum back in 2009, it had an exhibition on the bank that included old correspondence, receipts, money, typewriters, safes, etc. There was also a film. I had recently started studying Italian and got a kick out of trying to understand the Italian in the movie and the exhibit pieces.
The museum was tiny, but staffed with enthusiastic people who were happy to answer questions.
