NYC & Company’s mission is to “maximize travel and tourism opportunities throughout the five boroughs, build economic prosperity and spread the dynamic image of New York City around the world.”

They have various Official Information Centers around town, with the main one located at Seventh Avenue and 53rd Street. This place was renovated not long ago and has a kind of Apple Store chic.

Tourists flock here, sometimes with a shortage of English skills, so the center is staffed with numerous multilingual types equipped to help them. Visitors can get maps, informational brochures, tickets for certain attractions, and helpful advice from actual New Yorkers.

The center also sells city-pass options from various vendors where you pay a fixed rate to go to multiple attractions within a certain amount of time. If you are an energetic tourist who consumes museums and attractions for breakfast, you can end up getting a pretty spectacular deal with one of those things.

You don’t need to be a tourist to stop by the center, though. They have tons of free information on the city, including details about tours in foreign languages! There are also multilingual electronic kiosks in case there is no one working there the day you show up who speaks your language.

Though if you were able to read this review, that is basically an impossibility.
