Hebrew, like Arabic, reads right to left, and The Hebrew Primer starts on what would normally be an English speaker’s back cover. I get a kick out of little things like that.

This book teaches you how to print. I thoroughly enjoyed it. People have pointed out to me that in Israel, no one would ever print (they would write in cursive), but for me, practicing my printing was a necessary step in becoming familiar with the Hebrew letters.

The Hebrew Primer had just the right amount of explanation and the right amount of drilling. It looks like a kids’ book, and maybe it is, but for me it worked well.

There is some religious content (words, phrases, and larger examples), which is not surprising and which, based on my limited experience, appears to be common in Hebrew study materials.
