Grammar Overload
The cases are killing me.
I have my favorite Russian fashion makeover show on. It is gloriously tacky.
This is the first time in maybe 10 days that I have watched Russian TV. I do understand more, though I did not achieve what I would call a breakthrough. As I listen, I am reviewing a number of units in the grammar book.
I’m coming to accept that I won’t be able to remember all these case endings, even with my review. And I am okay with that. I can see why it’s not happening for me. On page 20 of my grammar book, where genitive singular for nouns is discussed, it says that:
- masculine genitive singular endings are the same as accusative singular masculine endings
- feminine genitive singular endings are the same as nominative plural feminine
- neuter genitive singular is the same as nominative plural neuter
My brain hurts.
