This website from the British-based company Antosch & Lin Languages offers Italian flashcards on steroids. And cheap, too!

There is much to do here, so drive your browser on over and check it out. Unlike some other language-learning products with wide-ranging features, the diverse functions of the site are explained and presented coherently, so that you can actually figure out how to use them without wishing to hang yourself.

You can set your vocabulary level, modify all kinds of settings to personalize the drilling, go from Italian to English or English to Italian, turn off the English translations, eliminate words you already know from the lineup, do all manner of exercises and games to help supercharge your vocabulary, listen to native speakers enunciate the words for you, and just have an all-around grand language-learning time.

I frankly loved the site. And I am not even much of an online learner! I am about audio lessons and grammar books, and yet I stayed up until 4 a.m. one night playing with this and some of the 11 other language sites Antosch & Lin offers. I have been on multiple times since, and I am still enamored.

If you are learning Italian, I would definitely recommend buying a one-month subscription (how can you go severely wrong with $7.99?) and then making your way one at a time through all the feature links along the left-hand side. If you don’t do that, you will not appreciate the power of the site and will miss out on too many learning opportunities. (For those who abhor reading instructions—a common affliction these days—you can watch tutorial videos instead.)

Now, all you crazy polyglots out there, this is your lucky day, because for that $7.99 you can have full access to all 12 of Antosch & Lin’s language sites, which range from Chinese and Korean to Dutch and Portuguese. This flashcard extravaganza struck me at first sight, and second, and third, etc., as a true labor of love.

Therefore, I was not surprised to learn that the Antosch and the Lin behind Antosch & Lin are married to each other. Small, committed family businesses can yield pretty special results. This to me is one of them. More Than Flashcards! More Than Flashcards!
