In Manhattan’s Chinatown, this small, friendly, attractive museum has a standing exhibit on the history of Chinese immigrants in the United States.

It is a history full of discrimination—and achievement in spite of it. The exhibit includes numerous testaments to the overcoming of hurdles, in the form of objects, papers, photos, videos, and more.

The museum also hosts other, temporary exhibits on a variety of themes relevant to the Chinese-American experience. Past exhibits have covered subjects such as 9/11, photography, comics, and film.

Finally, you can enjoy a variety of museum-sponsored walking tours, led by a local expert, of the surrounding Chinatown neighborhood.
