SparkNotes Spanish Vocabulary Study Cards

I am a huge fan of flashcards, and this box of 1,000 cards is great. You can take a handful in your purse on the subway or to your doctor’s office or wherever, or study while you are waiting in line at the grocery store.

In addition, once you get through these, you can buy another 1,000 cards, sold as More Spanish Vocabulary Study Cards. Or you would be able to—if SparkNotes hadn’t stopped supporting these flashcard products entirely, alas.

Since they are no longer being made, prices are—as you might expect—erratic. On a late winter day in 2013, I was still able to find this product for very close to its original list price of $9.95—but as for its successor box of cards, I couldn’t do better than a crazy $125.87 (though used options were totally reasonable, if you don’t mind the risk of someone else’s old hamburger grease on your flashcards).

In conclusion: if you want them, be resourceful. Try Amazon.com, or Alibris, or eBay, or a general Google search. These are great products, and I hope another company picks them up.
