Pimsleur Dutch

Pimsleur Dutch builds oral skills. The product consists of a series of roughly 30-minute lessons, highly interactive, prompting you to speak words, phrases, and sentences in Dutch in a way that gives far more practice than I have ever had in any classroom-based language course.

For popular languages, Pimsleur offers between 90 and 120 lessons. For less popular languages, they sometimes offer far fewer.

Dutch qualifies as one of the less popular ones, I’m afraid. Indeed, my main beef with Pimsleur Dutch is that there are only 30 half-hour lessons. Dutch pronunciation is perplexing, so it is really, really helpful to get oral practice.

I would have loved to keep going with Dutch. It was fun—a sister Germanic language to English!
