I bought the Pocket Korean Dictionary for my Korean studies. I confess I didn’t use it, but it wasn’t the dictionary’s fault. I was preoccupied trying to make it through my Pimsleur Korean lessons!

The Pocket Korean Dictionary is small (in dimensions, and also in page count) and appears to be very beginner-friendly. Words in the Korean-to-English section are alphabetized under their romanizations, with the Korean script given right next to each. The hardest part about using foreign-language dictionaries, in languages with totally different writing systems, is finding things when you are still struggling to remember symbols and their proper order in an unfamiliar tongue, so I like this neophyte-friendly approach to alphabetization. 

The dictionary contains a modest little selection of words that I could imagine browsing just for the hell of it. 

According to the inside back cover, the publisher, Periplus, offers pocket dictionaries in this series for “every major Asian language,” among them Tagalog, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Indonesian.
