You can find hard-core German food products at this longstanding family-owned Yorkville store, resident on 86th and Second Avenue since 1937. 

Schaller & Weber’s website says they are “masters of charcuterie.” I had to go look up “charcuterie.” Apparently it means things like pork products, such as hams, sausages, and pâtés.

You can also get essentials such as pickled herring, gummy bears, sauerkraut, spätzle, and much more.

When I stopped by (in 2010), the friendly owner, Ralph Schaller—son of one of the founders—was right there behind the counter!
