The BBC website offers free Irish lessons. I am only just beginning to familiarize myself with the site, but I believe there are three levels available—Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.

I tried the first lesson from Level 1 and liked it! You get text and audio, which is a great combination, since Irish words look and sound like nothing I’ve ever studied before.

The lesson I did was four and a half minutes long, so it did not involve a big time commitment, and the guy who narrated the lesson had a nice voice and welcoming manner. The pacing of the material was perfect for me.

The site is available in both English and Irish versions and includes tons of other material in Irish (print, audio, and video). 

There are even games for kids!
